A single page can't replace a walk-around and a written proposal, but this is what the work looks like in practice, so you know what you're comparing.
Guest list and arrival management
Most private events need control without a nightclub feel. We agree the arrival procedure with you in advance: a checked guest list, named invitations, plus-one policy, and how you would like unexpected arrivals handled, because the answer at a family wedding is rarely the same as at a twenty-first birthday. Officers greet guests warmly, direct them to the right entrance and pass them into the event without anybody feeling processed. Where the venue is remote or shares an access track, we cover the approach so vehicles are managed before they reach the marquee.
Weddings, marquees and country venues
Marquee weddings on private land are effectively temporary venues with no doors, no CCTV, limited lighting and a great deal of expensive equipment. We cover the perimeter, keep an eye on the car park, monitor the bar area during peak service, watch the gift and card table, and check fire exits and walkways remain clear as the night goes on. Officers are briefed on the running order, so we know when speeches, first dance and carriages fall and can be in the right place at the right moment rather than reacting late.
Milestone birthdays and higher-risk parties
Eighteenth and twenty-first birthdays carry a different risk profile: social media invitations spread, uninvited groups arrive in numbers, and alcohol is a factor with young guests. For these events we recommend a stronger, more visible presence at the entrance, a firm no-readmission policy after a set time, and a documented approach to alcohol, drugs and confiscation agreed with the hosts. Parents are always briefed on what we will do before the first guest arrives, so there are no arguments about it later.
Discretion, dress code and tone
Private events are personal, and heavy-handed security ruins the atmosphere faster than any incident. Officers are deployed in suits, smart plain clothes or AV Group uniform depending entirely on your preference. They are briefed to be courteous, to stay out of photographs, and to raise anything sensitive with a nominated contact, not with the hosts on the dance floor. Confidentiality is standard: we do not post about client events, name guests or discuss what we see.
Alcohol, conflict and medical escalation
Free bars produce predictable problems. Our officers are trained in conflict management and de-escalation and will almost always resolve a situation with a quiet word and a glass of water rather than a removal. Where a guest genuinely has to leave, it is done discreetly, with a taxi arranged and their party informed. Where somebody is unwell, we can escalate to our own FREC 4 and paramedic-level medical teams if you have booked medical cover, or to the emergency services with a clear location and access route ready.
End of night, carriages and site security
The last hour of a private event is when losses and disputes happen. We manage carriages so taxis and minibuses arrive and load without chaos, help guests find lifts, keep the car park supervised, and hand gifts, cards and personal items to your nominated person against a simple record. Where the marquee, bar stock or hired equipment stays overnight, we can provide static overnight cover so the site is not left open until suppliers return in the morning.
